Communication is the methods we use with verbal and nonverbal language, movement, and written symbols to relay feelings and often pursue a common goal.

 

There is tremendous value in graduating from an umbrella communication department. While my emphasis is in broadcasting, I was exposed to a number of other valuable classes such as performance appreciation and speech. This has allowed me to expand my horizons and discover other areas of interest I would not otherwise had realized.

 

In today's highly connected world, there is much value a communication graduate has to offer society. With the Internet, there are so many new ways to communicate on the global level, and a great level of responsibility is required to properly utilize this tool. As a graduate of Pittsburg State University's communication department, I will be a positive representative in that I will apply the concepts I have learned in the broadcasting field and inform the public of what is going on in the world around them.
